Police chiefs across Ontario are asking people to donate their licence plate renewal refund to a new fundraising effort for victims of the war in Ukraine.
The initiative, called #ValTags4Ukraine, will enable the Canadian Red Cross to respond to humanitarian needs in Canada as they arise for people displaced due to the war, the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police said in a statement. Donations will be accepted via the Red Cross’ website in English and in French. Donors will instantly receive an electronic tax receipt.
